The PlayStation 4 didn’t lose its sales lead over the holiday season. During a five week period from the end of November to the beginning of January, 5.7 million PlayStation 4s were sold throughout the world.

This brings the PS4’s total numbers at 35.9 million units.

Over the same time period PS4 software did well too, with 35 million retail and digital units sold. Since the end of 2014, subscribers to PlayStation Plus also increased by 60%.

“We are absolutely delighted that so many customers have selected PS4 as the best place to play throughout this holiday season and that the PS4 community is growing more than ever,” said Andrew House, President and Global CEO of Sony.
