Indie publisher Devolver Digital has announced the release date for their upcoming roguelike action-RPG The Swords of Ditto. The Swords of Ditto will launch April 24 on PC and PlayStation 4. Watch the new gameplay trailer above.

The Swords of Ditto looks like a cartoon, plays like 2D Zelda, but is structured like Binding of Isaac. When a hero falls, the sword will wait another century for a new hero to try again, as the world shifts and new dangers emerge. Any earned experience and power can transfer from hero to hero via the sword. You can save the world with a buddy with local co-op on both PS4 and PC.

UK indie developer Onebitbeyond has been working on The Swords of Ditto since 2015, and features several gaming veterans, including former creative director at Curve Studios Jonathan Biddle.

Onebitbeyond will be at PAX East 2018 in April to show off the latest build of the game to attendees. I played a bit of the game at PAX South earlier this year and it’s shaping up nicely.

The Swords of Ditto will arrive on April 24 on PlayStation 4 and PC. It’s rated E for Everyone with Fantasy Violence.
