Telltale Games announced the release date for Episodes 1 and 2 of their popular The Walking Dead adventure series last week, along with a teaser trailer. Today they released a full launch trailer.

The first teaser focused on new character Javier. This trailer showcases both he and series star Clementine. Clem has grown into a hardened young teenager, and knows all to well the horrors of Robert Kirkman’s zombie apocalypse. The subtitle for Season 3, “A New Frontier,” points to a new villainous organization of the same name.

Telltale’s Walking Dead series seeks to maintain a tricky balance between series fans and newcomers. “Players new to the series will be able to start a story that is tailored to this new beginning,” states the press release. “Players continuing onward from prior seasons will have multiple options for quickly configuring their tailored backstory, or importing past save files from various platforms.” Being able to transfer saves from one platform to another would be a helpful boon, as the episodic games are available on consoles, PC, and mobile devices.

If you’re interested in revisiting (or catching up on) seasons one and two of The Walking Dead, Telltale has you covered. Every day from now until December 18 the developers will live stream the earlier games via Twitch.tv. The live streaming begins at 3pm Pacific/6pm Eastern each day.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier Episode One: Ties That Bind Part I and Episode Two: Ties That Bind Part II arrive digitally on December 20th on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android. The episodic series will also be available for last gen consoles, but a release date has not yet been announced.
