Telltale Games have revealed the launch date for the first episode of the third season of their critically acclaimed The Walking Dead series. The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier will debut on December 20th for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, iOS, and Android.

Here’s the official description:

When family is all you have left… how far will you go to protect it? Four years after society was ripped apart by undead hands, pockets of civilization emerge from the chaos. But at what cost? Can the living be trusted on this new frontier? As Javier, a young man determined to find the family taken from him, you meet a young girl who has experienced her own unimaginable loss. Her name is Clementine, and your fates are bound together in a story where every choice you make could be your last.

The third season still features Clementine as a primary character. This time she’s paired with another protagonist after a four year time jump from the events in the first and second seasons. The third season will repeat the episodic format that Telltale uses for all its narrative-driven adventure games.

The full five episode season can be pre-ordered right now. It’s available digitally as well as on physical discs for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The discs will include the first episode, with access to the other episodes as they become available. The retail discs will be available on February 7th, 2017.

Pre-ordering the digital version on PlayStation 4 gives free copies of The Walking Dead: Season Two and spin-off The Walking Dead: Michonne. Pre-ordering on Steam nets a 10% discount (which is fairly standard for new releases).

Telltale will be presenting a “special extended first look” at the premiere episode during The Game Awards on December 1st.
