Yoshi's Woolly World stars Green Yoshi (and Red Yoshi in two-player co-op mode) on a quest to save his friends after the game's villain, Kamek, unravels his fellow yarn Yoshis and makes off with them. The unraveled Yoshis are scattered throughout the island's many worlds, and Green Yoshi must travel through each of them in order to find his friends and defeat Kamek.
The game is pretty easy to play, perhaps too much so for those who enjoy challenging platformers.
Violence Yoshis defeat enemies by stomping on their heads (Mario style), swallowing them, or throwing balls of yarn at them. Vanquished enemies are knocked off-screen.
Consumerism Yoshi's Woolly World includes amiibo support, and players may be tempted to purchase the collectible figurines in order to maximize their gameplay experience. Furthermore, as a part of the Mario franchise, the game is tied to numerous pieces of merchandise and other forms of media.
