Story & Themes

Whispering Willows stars Elena Elkhorn, a Native American girl whose father has gone missing in Willows Mansion. Elena's father is the caretaker of the old mansion, and before he disappeared he gave her a special amulet that allows Elena to astrally-project her spirit into another world. Elena uses this amulet to explore the mansion and communicate with ghosts as she delves deeper into the search for her father.

Difficulty

The game's mechanics and puzzles aren't especially challenging, save for a few frustrating exceptions.

Heads Up!

Violence Players can experience past events of trauma and violence by reading notes and witnessing ghosts who are trapped at the moment of their grisly death. Blood is visible in one of the mansion's rooms.

Scary Imagery The game has a spooky and sometimes disturbing atmosphere, but some of the darkness is offset by the cartoon-ish art style.

Sex & Nudity Players can encounter references to female dancers and a brothel.

Strong Language Words like "hell" and "damn" are occasionally used.
