Story & Themes
Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise has players living once more on Piñata Island, a place where piñata animals roam the lands and gardening is the profession of choice. Players will be given a plot of land to cultivate, and as their garden grows, piñatas will be interested and may choose to live in it. Piñata Central encourages players to entice piñatas and then catalog them as Central's records were stolen by Professor Pester and his Ruffians. By collecting the different piñata species, players can restore order to the parties' delivery system.
Difficulty
Trouble in Paradise is supposed to have fixed the unintentionally difficult or frustrating aspects of the original, such as providing players with easy access to seeds and other supplies.
Heads Up!
Violence Piñatas will attack each other if they're incompatible, and players can attack and "kill" piñatas themselves, though the game doesn't encourage this kind of behavior. Because they're piñatas, the animal creatures will burst into candy pieces when destroyed.
Online Community
Players can pool their efforts in groups of up to four online to maintain a garden together.
