Story & Themes

Total War: Rome II is a real-time strategy game, and as such it doesn't have an exact storyline. Rather, players will choose a faction and people, and work through military means or diplomacy (though military endeavors aren't really avoidable) to secure their power. The Roman Empire and its allies and enemies spanned continents, and thus the game is quite large, with many different factions and territories.

Save Points

Players can save at any time (unless playing online with other players).

Heads Up!

Violence Cut scenes tend to be a little more graphic than gameplay, but the violence is not particularly intense. There is a DLC pack called Blood and Gore that enhances the violence graphically, however.

Sex & Nudity There are a few suggestive dialogue lines, but no overt sex or nudity.

Strong Language Occasionally you may hear a character say "shit" or "damn."

Substance Use References to alcohol are present.

Consumerism There is a lot of downloadable content available for Total War: Rome II.
