Star Wars Outlaws

Outlaws is set after The Empire Strikes Back, at the height of the Galactic Empire's power in the Star Wars universe. Kay Vess is a young woman who grew up around the casino world of Canto Bight, learning the tricks and trades of a professional thief and hacker.

Kay has remained neutral in the ongoing war between the Empire and the Rebellion, but an early heist mission makes an adversary of a powerful crime lord, and she's forced to flee her world to seek out fortune, and stay ahead of her foes.

Outlaws is an open world action-adventure game that stars a character who has no issues working for criminal syndicates — or stealing from them. Throughout the story, the player chooses which factions to run missions for, and which to attack and steal from. In fact, the story encourages Kay to work both sides to make the most of her dangerous career, while exploring planets on her speeder bike and surviving run-ins with Stormtroopers.

Along the way she meets important friends and allies, and always has her loyal alien-axolotl pet Nix by her side. Themes of freedom, loyalty, and the character arc of obvious inspirational scoundrel Han Solo in the original Star Wars: A New Hope are strong with this one.

The game autosaves at infrequent checkpoints (such as before sneaking into an enemy safe house), and cannot be manually saved while in dangerous areas.

Star Wars Outlaws includes four different difficulty levels, which affect player and enemy health, and the lockpicking and slicing minigames. Players can further tailor individual settings, such as cranking up combat difficulty but lowering the minigame challenges.
