Slice Fractions

In Slice Fractions, a small mammoth is wandering through a prehistoric world, its progress threatened by a volcano with a cat face that spews lava. The player must clear the mammoth’s path by dropping chunks of ice onto smoldering piles of lava. Drop too much ice, and you’re obstructed by your excess. Drop too little, and the lava continues to block your path. Each puzzle asks players to think analytically as well as use mathematical skills such as subtraction and division. The skills taught are relevant for grades two through four, and the game introduces the idea of fractions and proportions in a visual and hands-on manner.

The game was designed with young children in mind, so the puzzles, while potentially challenging, are accessible for kids of about seven years old and above. The actual controls are simple and involve swiping or tapping the screen.
