Story & Themes
Roundabout's main story is told through FMV cutscenes and details the experiences of Georgio Manos, the first driver of a rotating limousine. Georgio's job involves chauffeuring people around the 1970s-esque city of Roundabout. Over time, she develops a relationship with her most frequent customer, a woman called Elizabeth, and the two begin dating. But it isn't all smooth sailing for Georgio because her competitor, Ronaldo, soon overtakes her as the best revolving limousine driver in the city. Desperate to regain her position, Georgio begins taking a drug known as candy dots which give her an edge but have the side effect of fueling her rage. In a flash of near insanity, Georgio kills Ronaldo by running his car off the road, destroying both vehicle and driver.
Six months later, Georgio finds herself holed up outside of the city, her career on hold. Finally, she decides to clean up her act, kick the candy dots addiction, and win back Elizabeth. She returns to Roundabout but has to contend with a police force that has been intent on tracking her down ever since Ronaldo's murder. In the end, Georgio gets back together with Elizabeth who accepts her unusual driving method, and the two spin off into the sunset together.
Heads Up!
Violence Players can drive the limousine into pedestrians which results in large bloodstains appearing on the road. At one point in the story, the protagonist kills someone by running them off the road.
Substance Use The game's protagonist uses a fictional drug, and the main storyline deals with themes of addiction, albeit in a less-than-serious fashion.
