RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 simulates the experience of operating an amusement park, beginning with the creation of the rides and eventually culminating in the management of a successful park. Career mode emulates this type of progression, and in this mode players are given certain objectives and goals to fulfill that will guide the experience. However, for those interested solely in the creative aspect of the game, Sandbox mode will be more appealing. In this mode, restrictions such as land and money availability are removed, allowing players free reign to construct whatever strikes their fancy.

The game can be saved at virtually any time.

Gameplay is pretty intuitive in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, and after a slight learning curve players should be able to figure out the controls. In the iPad version of the game, players can find links to YouTube tutorials.
