Story & Themes
In his third case, Phoenix investigates a famous actress who is murdered. His fourth and ultimate case (in the original version of the game), however, increases the drama. Miles Edgeworth, a former friend of Phoenix and, as a prosecutor, a professional rival of his, is framed for murder. The victim is Miles' father, and the perpetrator, Miles' former mentor, leads Miles to believe that he killed his own father. Luckily, Phoenix is able to uncover the truth and Miles is exonerated.
In later versions of the game, a fifth case is included. In this case, Phoenix must defend Chief Prosecutor Lana Skye against murder charges. Believing her sister to be guilty of the crime, Lana accepted the blame. However, Phoenix is able to discover that Lana's sister was framed by the Chief of Police.
