Story & Themes

Need for Speed follows a group of street racers as they aspire to win fame and recognition in the fictional city of Ventura Bay. They do so by building up their reputations in hopes of eventually getting a chance to challenge the current top racers. Eventually the player character can gain enough experience to earn the title of ultimate icon, and the final race is against the other members of the group.

Difficulty

The controls are simple and easy to learn, but the imperfect AI may cause undue frustration.

Violence Cars can smash into each other and other objects on the side of the road, but no actual humans are seen sustaining injuries.
