Story & Themes
Mirror's Edge Catalyst tells the story of Faith Conners, a woman living in a city called Glass within the dystopian nation of Cascadia. Cascadia is run by an oligarchy made up of thirteen different corporations that rule the country with an iron fist, stratifying the population and keeping tabs on everyone via the Grid. Faith is a Runner, a courier who lives off the Grid and uses the rooftops to traverse the city. Years ago, Faith's family was killed during a riot, and she turns to running as a way to make a living while avoiding the corporations that stole her family away from her. Faith eventually becomes embroiled in the resistance against the ruling class and in the process is finally able to learn the truth about what happened to her family.
Sometimes judging jumps in the first-person perspective can be tricky, but otherwise the gameplay is pretty straightforward.
Violence Faith uses melee attacks and takedowns to defeat her enemies. Typically, Faith tries to abstain from excessive violence and does not perform lethal attacks. However, other scenes in the game depict a woman being held at gunpoint and a man being electrocuted to death.
Strong Language Some occasional strong language, though nothing worse than "bitch."
Mirror's Edge Catalyst has optional multiplayer features that require an internet connection to use.
