Story & Themes
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, a collection of individuals, both human and alien, have decided to expand the borders of the known universe. The Andromeda Initiative seeks to build a home outside the Milky Way Galaxy for generations to come. As the player, you step into the shoes of an Initiative member called Ryder, child of the human Pathfinder Alec Ryder. The Pathfinders are given the unique role of locating and securing a place for settlement among the so-called "Golden Planets" in Andromeda's Heleus Cluster. However, when the first of these planets turns out to be a huge disappointment, the human ark Hyperion is in a bind. Pathfinder Alec Ryder takes a team down to investigate the planet, but what awaits them below will disrupt the Initiative’s lofty hopes and throw the player into a position of leadership they never planned for.
The game autosaves fairly frequently and can also be saved manually outside of main missions.
Andromeda includes several different difficulty modes for players of various skill levels.
Violence Action sequences can be fast-paced and a bit bloody, but the level of graphic violence is relatively low. Players will, however, often find themselves in combat and will need to defeat foes using guns, melee attacks, traps, and/or biotic powers.
Sex & Nudity Romance cutscenes - if players choose to pursue a romantic partner - usually include one sequence that is explicitly sexual in nature. During this scene, players may see characters in partial states of nudity.
Strong Language Characters will occasionally use strong language like "f*ck" and "sh*t."
Substance Use The player can choose to partake in alcohol or drug consumption. Several locations in the game include bars or lounges wherein other characters are depicted drinking.
The game's multiplayer mode is online-only. In this mode, players can talk to one another through voice chat.
