Story & Themes
Luma Island begins with the player taking over old farm land as the new arrival. The island is mostly wild and untamed, dotted with dangerous temple dungeons and a vast underground cavern system, along with a single town.
Players progress by taking on various professions, such as cook, fisherman, or blacksmith. By gathering materials and ingredients, they can craft goods to be sold in town, as well as complete quests, unlock new areas, and repair the town.
Luma Island doesn't use any stamina or energy system, nor worries about inventory space. Combat is required, but is very simplistic, and there are no health bars.
The game features a charming art style that look like toy playsets. Gameplay is easy to pick up and uses minimal text messaging
Save Points
Players can save and quit any time.
Difficulty
Gameplay is designed to be intuitive, with minimal text messages and menus. Prior experience with farm sims is a huge plus.
When starting a new game, players can choose between three different difficulty levels, making resources easier or harder to obtain, enemies stronger, and other adjustments.
Heads Up!
Violence While exploring different zones, caves, and temple regions, players will run into hostile enemies. The only available weapon is a whip. Enemy attacks cause players to lose items (though they can be picked back up). Defeated enemies disappear and drop loot, while players are only defeated if hit by a trap, which restarts them to the beginning of the area.
Scary Imagery Giant spiders and ghosts are among the first enemies the player encounters. The underground cave region is also purposefully dark, requiring torches to expand the lit areas.
