Story & Themes
Kim Kardashian Hollywood doesn't have a complicated storyline. The main character, a vaguely customizable avatar of the player's choice, meets fashionista and reality star Kim Kardashian in an unfortunate series of events and befriends her. Kim then helps the player meet other famous folks and sets the player up with a photoshoot as thanks.

The goal of the game is to become as popular, famous, and successful as possible. This can be accomplished in a couple of ways, but the gist is that looks and charm are paramount, and friends in high places don't hurt. Meanwhile, the player collects stars and coins in order to pay for things like more expensive clothing items, which will in turn garner more popularity.

Difficulty
Kim Kardashian Hollywood is very easy to play, but players will have to wait in between turns for their powers to replenish.
Heads Up!
Sex & Nudity There is some partial nudity in Kim Kardashian Hollywood, and some mildly implied sexual content (mostly kissing, etc.) At one point players must decide if their character will take nude photos in order to earn more fame.
Substance Use Characters sometimes spend time in swanky bar settings.
Consumerism Kim Kardashian Hollywood gives players the option to spend money pretty much constantly. Some players have admitted to spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on the game. You can buy new clothing items, pets, hairstyles, and more, as well as the option to pay for longer periods of play when you run out of Stars to spend.
Discrimination While the game itself is actually pleasantly diverse in its characters, it does give the impression that wealth, fashion sense, and popularity (or fame, as the case may be) are the be-all and end-all to life. There is a constant underlying message that if you aren't dressed well enough it's a reflection on your bad character.
Conversation Starters
- Do you think it's reasonable to expect people to like you more when you wear nicer clothes? Do you think everyone thinks this way?
- Is it wrong to want to be fashionable or popular? Is it wrong to judge someone else for wanting to be fashionable or popular? Why might be being fashionable or popular be a good thing?
- Is this a life you would want to lead outside of the game? Do you think it would really be like it is in the game if you could drop everything and live that life?
