Story & Themes
Fields of Mistria is a classic life sim and farm sim inspired by Stardew Valley and 90s anime. Players arrive in the fantasy town of Mistria with their new farmland, where they begin growing and harvesting crops. In the nearby town, players can cook meals at the tavern, forge armor and weapons at the blacksmith, and chat with the many residents.
Like Stardew Valley, the game uses a clock and day/night cycle, forcing players to manage their limited time and stamina, from chopping trees to exploring the monster-filled mines.
The goal is to expand the farm and ranch, while continuing to make money and gather resources for the various residents and main quest lines, ultimately restoring Mistria's rundown buildings and ancient ruins. Players can also maximize their bonds and relationships with NPCs, including some light romance and marriage.
The game features exceptionally well-written and diverse NPCs to interact with.
Save Points
One nice perk Fields of Mistria has over Stardew Valley - the ability to save outside of sleeping for the night! Players can interact with the book by the nightstand in their home to save their game.
Difficulty
The primary challenge in Fields of Mistria is managing money and time. In the beginning, the players have a limited amount of money. Seeds must be purchased, sown, watered, and then harvested after a set amount of days, which then brings profit. Players also make money by completing item requests from townsfolk.
Players also have a limited amount of stamina every day, and the clock continues to wind down, leaving players with only so much time and energy each day.
Heads Up!
Violence Combat is limited to the mines, where players encounter pixelated monsters such as cutesy slimes, and battle them with fantasy melee weapons. There is no blood or gore.
Sex & Nudity Players can marry someone at maximum heart level, and have children, thought the only romantic interaction is to kiss their spouse.
