Far Cry 2

Far Cry 2 takes place in a war torn central African nation (an imaginary one). The conflict has split into two sides, though neither have the people's best interests at heart.

The main character can be chosen from a roster of mercenaries, and is tasked with taking down a nefarious weapons dealer called the Jackal who has been supplying both sides of the conflict. As he proceeds in his mission, the mercenary must fight for both sides in turn, and eventually finds that he's being played in more ways than one.

Meanwhile the player has "buddies" he can meet and complete missions for. He attempts to earn their favor and keep them alive on different missions, but they can die if he doesn't take good enough care of them.

Far Cry 2's themes include greed and redemption.

On the PC version, players can save at will, but on the console version, there are specific savepoints.

The difficulty level is somewhat higher for Far Cry 2 than your average shooter, but there are difficulty settings available.
