Story & Themes
Dragon's Dogma 2 is a single player, third-person action-RPG set in a fantasy open-world filled with large monsters and warring kingdoms.
As with the first game, players take on the unique role of the Arisen, a tragic figure whose heart has been stolen by a powerful dragon. Players can choose from several different vocations that define their weapons and abilities, an dunlock more advanced vocations later in the story.
The series is known for its Pawn system. Pawns are AI-controlled NPC allies that can be fully customized and programmed by players, as well as shared and downloaded by connecting online with others. Players travel with up to three Pawns to form their adventuring party.
Save Points
Dragon's Dogma features autosaves. Manual saves can be made at any time.
Difficulty
Dragon's Dogma 2 does not have formal difficulty settings. Combat could be a challenge for newcomers to the more fast-paced action-RPG genre, but series veterans may find it a bit easy and repetitive due to the limited monster variety.
Heads Up!
Violence Combat is everything in Dragon's Dogma 2, and it's up-close and personal between monsters and humanoids, including screams, sword-slashes, and plenty of blood.
Scary Imagery Some monsters can unnerve due to their sheer size and ferocity, but they're mostly mythological and fantasy-based instead of horror.
Sex & Nudity Players can interact with sex workers, and scenes depict characters in bed (with underwear) before fading to black. Some feminine monsters feature exposed breasts (sans nipples).
Consumerism Some cosmetic, optional microtransactions are available for purchase.
