Story & Themes
Dorfromantik is like a solo version of tile-laying board game Carcassonne. Players place one randomly drawn hex tile at a time onto the board, forming a pastoral world of rivers, forests, towns, and pastures. Some tiles have a number, requiring that many of the same type adjacent. For example, 150 trees, or 40 houses. By completing this random objectives, players earn additional tiles, and increase their score. The goal is to get as high as score as possible before running out of tiles.
By completing games and reaching milestones, players can unlock additional tile types and biomes.
The default mode is Classic. The puzzle game also includes Quick Mode, Hard Mode, and Creative Mode.
Save Points
The game autosaves periodically. A match can be quit at any time, and resumed next time game the loads.
Difficulty
Gameplay is as simple as placing a tile, and changing its orientation. Even a preschooler can play. To achieve higher scores, players must plan out their map as they place tiles, grouping like tiles together to complete objectives.
Dorfromantik offers a Hard mode with fewer tiles and more challenging pieces.
