Story & Themes
Donkey Kong travels is at Ingot Isle smashing and digging for gold and gems, but the expedition is interrupted by the nefarious mining company, VoidCo. Kong becomes lost in the sublayers where he meets a strange singing rock that eventually turns out to be a teenage Pauline. Together, the pair explore the sublayers, meeting new tribes, gaining new powers, and collecting more coins and gems while battling the villainous VoidCo minions.
Bananza's world design is inspired by Minecraft, with fully destructable ground that DK can punch through to find treasures. Nearly all of DK's moves have to do with punching and breaking, including picking up and throwing rocks. The colorful Nintendo art style and head-bopping soundtrack are on full display through each level.
Bananza also utilizes a unique optional two-player mode, with one player controlling Pauline as she rides on DK's back, providing assistance (and perfect for younger gamers).
Save Points
Players can manually save at any time to update their coins/collectibles. Spawn locations are limited to tuning fork checkpoints, found throughout each level.
Heads Up!
Violence Donkey Kong Bananza is slight more violent that the average 3D Mario platformer, as DK physically punches many enemies, or picks up and throws rocks at them.
