Crash Team Racing

Unlike other racing games, Crash Team Racing has a story-driven single player mode. Earth has been invaded by an alien called Nitros Oxide who challenges the planet's fastest racer to a competition. The stakes for the race are high; if Oxide wins, he'll take over Earth and turn it into a parking lot. However, if he loses, Oxide promises to leave the planet alone. The player, in order to challenge Oxide, must collect four Boss Keys to access the alien's spaceship. Once Oxide has been defeated, he threatens to return to Earth after all the Time Relics have been gathered. The player then sets out to collect these items as well, triumphing over Oxide for the final time. An angry Oxide leaves Earth, saving the planet and its inhabitants from annihilation and slavery.

The game can be saved at specific save points in the world map.
