Story & Themes
While playing through the main storyline of the game, players will complete four different campaigns. The first, which focuses on American soldier Private Nichols, reveals how his unit captures and clears areas in France after the D-Day invasion. The final part of this campaign revolves around the recapture of Chambois and the liberation of Paris.
The second campaign follows the combined efforts of the British Special Air Service and the Marquis Resistance. The Resistance fighters are under attack by German forces, and the player's eventual goal is to aid with their sabotage work while keeping them safe.
In the Canadian campaign, the 4th Canadian Armoured Division provides relief to the Polish who desperately need backup. Players control Private Cole, a soldier under the command of Lieutenant Jean-Guy Robichaud. Robichaud's style of leadership has the tendency to endanger the lives of his men, but ultimately his team is successful in helping the Polish forces against the Germans in Normandy.
The final campaign stars Polish tank driver Corporal Wojciech Bohater who manages to capture Hill 262 with the help of his division. Much of the campaign details their struggle to hold the location against an aggressive German assault.
