Story & Themes

The game is a sequel to Bit.Trip Runner and a prequel to Bit.Trip Fate, but familiarity with these games isn't necessary to enjoy the gameplay. Commander Video, the rectangular hero of the game, has gotten lost in space after chasing down the villain from the previous game. Commander Video makes his way through the levels on his way to reunite with his friends. Throughout the game you can unlock these other character and play as them.

The game saves every time you complete a level.

Difficulty

Bit.Trip Runner 2 is a very challenging game. The levels are short, but as you are constantly moving one mistake will send you back to the beginning, or to the most recent checkpoint.

Heads Up!

Violence There is no violent content in Bit.Trip Runner 2. The characters (all of whom are very cartoonish) will smack into walls or enemies if you don't avoid them, but they'll simply be transported back to the most recent checkpoint.

Sex & Nudity The Reverse Merman's testicles are played for laughs, and are not shown outside of his underwear.

Strong Language The game is rated T for crude humor. There is no swearing, but one character is named "Whetfart Cheeseburger." Another character, the Reverse Merman, has a fish head and a man's lower body. He's wearing a pair of white underwear and has large dangling testicles.

Discrimination There is one female character, CommandGirl Video. She looks exactly like Commander Video, but wearing a pink suit with a bow, and she has breasts.
