Story & Themes
Battleborn has a strong focus on its diverse cast of characters and tells most of its story through their actions and interactions. The main story justifies the fact that all of these characters are together in the same place by having them all travel from various parts of the universe to the last remaining star. This star is under attack from Lothar Rendain and his forces, and its up to our heroes to save it from annihilation.
The game includes eight total story missions that can be experienced through its Campaign mode. For additional narrative, players should begin the campaign in single-player so that they can watch the animated prologue sequence that introduces two of the more central characters, Mellka and Deande.
Save Points
The game autosaves regularly.
Difficulty
Battleborn has a default difficulty level, but players can adjust the settings if they need to.
Heads Up!
Violence Violence is cartoon-ish and colorful, with more flare than actual brutality. Though much of the game is spent battling others with melee and ranged attacks, no blood is ever shed.
Sex & Nudity One of the characters flashes his censored backside as a taunt.
Strong Language Moderately mild language appears somewhat frequently in dialogue throughout and includes words like "bastard" and "a*s." One of the character's taunts consists of flipping her enemies the bird.
Online Community
Players can choose to play with others online either cooperatively or competitively. The game's campaign can be played solo, but players will need a continuous internet connection because of how its main features, such as the save function, are set up.
