Polish indie studio Varsav Game Studios has announced that spy-comedy-action game, Barkour, will launch in Q4 of this year on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series. The studio has released a new trailer focusing on the cheeky story and its very good boy star.
Barkour stars Agent T.H.U.N.D.E.R., a heroic superspy who wields an arsenal of high-tech gadgets. And happens to be a dog. No, I’m not sure what T.H.U.N.D.E.R. stands for, but I’m sure it’s hilariously ridiculous.
To add to the self-aware tone of the game, the heroic spy organization is called M.A.N., and one of the main villains is named Van Der Meow. Much scenery will be chewed.
The story mixes visual comedy and humor with classic spy-movie stories, characters, and melodrama. And yes, the dogs can talk thanks to special gadget translators. Gameplay looks a bit more action-y than something like Hitman, but with plenty of chances for stealth, exploration, and, of course, jumping and wall-running.
The single-player game will feature about 15-20 hours of content across multiple missions and environments.
A free demo is available, although a major update to the demo is arriving during Gamescom 2026 (Aug 26-30). The new demo version will improve gameplay, content, and polish since the last demo from Steam Next Fest released earlier this year.
Barkour has been in development for four years, and Varsav Game Studios is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year with the game’s release.
Barkour will release later this year on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
