Story & Themes
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, a collection of individuals, both human and alien, have decided to expand the borders of the known universe. The Andromeda Initiative seeks to build a home outside the Milky Way Galaxy for generations to come. As the player, you step into the shoes of an Initiative member called Ryder, child of the human Pathfinder Alec Ryder. The Pathfinders are given the unique role of locating and securing a place for settlement among the so-called "Golden Planets" in Andromeda's Heleus Cluster. However, when the first of these planets turns out to be a huge disappointment, the human ark Hyperion is in a bind. Pathfinder Alec Ryder takes a team down to investigate the planet, but what awaits them below will disrupt the Initiative’s lofty hopes and throw the player into a position of leadership they never planned for.
