Story & Themes
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided continues the story of Adam Jensen two years after the events of Human Revolution. After the "Aug Incident" which temporarily turned all augmented humans into mindless killing machines, the world has been struggling to deal with the fallout. Many now fear the augmented, and as a result communities have sprung up across the world which are effectively being used to segregate augmented individuals from the rest of society. In the wake of this chaos, Jensen has joined the international counter-terrorist organization called Task Force 29 which was created to deal with the rise in violence. However, Jensen is also working with a hacktivist group known as the Juggernaut Collective that is attempting to confront those who have orchestrated this societal collapse: the Illuminati.
Save Points
The game autosaves frequently but can also be saved manually from the menu.
Difficulty
The game has a fairly thorough tutorial system for newcomers. However, players should note that opting for a stealth style of gameplay can make things more difficult.
Heads Up!
Violence Jensen can kill or incapacitate enemies with various firearms, explosives, or melee attacks. Some of the optional cybernetic augmentations can be used to basically turn Jensen into a lethal weapon. It's entirely possible to make it through the game without killing anyone, though players may need to knock out a cop or two.
Sex & Nudity Players can encounter suggestive or sexual dialogue throughout the game. In the red-light district, women and men are depicted dancing in very little clothing, and a billboard advertisement shows a topless woman.
Strong Language Occasional strong language like "sh*t" and "f*ck."
Substance Use Jensen can pick up and consume alcohol, and doing so will temporarily cause the screen to blur. Drug use and addiction is referenced throughout.
