Sid Meier’s Civilization V

In Civilization V, players are given the opportunity to run a country from the earliest days of its formation to the postmodern age. Players begin by choosing a world leader to play as and selecting that leader's country as their own. The fledgling civilization is given a single city and players are free to develop their country from there. As the game progresses, players can explore new lands, claim territory, and encounter other civilizations that they may choose to befriend, ignore, or antagonize. Ultimately, players can choose what kind of country they'd like to control, be it peace-loving, militaristic, innovative, or otherwise. The possibilities are virtually endless, allowing for many different and unique playthroughs of the game.

The game includes multiple difficulty settings, the highest of which is not for the faint of heart. That being said, there are plenty of tips and tutorials to guide players through every aspect of the gameplay mechanics.

The game can be played online with others in multiplayer mode.
