The Fable Legends closed beta has been delayed. Now it’s slated for the spring of 2016, according to a post on Lionhead’s official site.

“Fable Legends is coming together well and it’s a lot of fun. But we think that we can make it even better,” the post reads. “So we’ve decided to extend our closed beta to continue to listen to feedback from our players and add features and polish that will make a real difference. This means Fable Legends won’t release into open beta this holiday as previously announced.”

The studio is, however, inviting an additional 100,000 fans to the closed beta over the next couple of weeks. Those who have been on the waitlist the longest will get the highest priority.

The project has become a much bigger project than Lionhead anticipated, apparently, and the studio thanked its team and those who are participating in the closed beta. Lionhead also thanked fans who have been waiting patiently (or impatiently, as the case may be), and wish everyone a happy holidays.

Fable Legends is a free-to-play cooperative role-playing game that mixes elements of RPG and RTS (real-time strategy) gameplay. It’s based on the Fable series of fantasy role-playing games.
