Word Mess

Word Mess is an educational game with the purpose of boosting visual and vocabulary skills. The game focuses solely on gameplay, with four different modes meant to stimulate slightly different approaches to strengthening player’s word recognition abilities. Find Mode focuses on visual scanning as players engage in what is essentially a word search, though with a more colorful and less-orderly aesthetic. The Categories and Rhyme Modes are more vocabulary-based, and Rhyme Mode in particular is suited for younger children with a burgeoning grasp of the English language. Finally, in Survival Mode, players are tasked with finding the odd word out in a grid that contains numerous instances of the same word, with one exception.

The game is simple to play and suited for the reading ability of younger children.

The game can be played with friends, and players can post their scores or screenshots.
