Story & Themes
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 continues the simplistic, arcade-style design of its predecessor. Consequently, the game lacks a storyline, instead favoring gameplay. Players control a claw-shaped object that can shoot and move in any direction. The goal of the game is to survive as long as possible while avoiding geometrical enemies. Players have a set number of lives, and once all lives run out the game is over.

Retro Evolved 2 also adds several modes not present in the first game as well as local multiplayer support.
Difficulty
The controls are easy to pick up, but racking up a high score requires practice and some degree of skill. Some of the modes are more difficult that others, lowering the player's number of lives, for example, or imposing a time limit.
Heads Up!
Violence The game is technically classified as a shooter, but the only weapons present are your ship's guns and the enemies are 2-D shapes.
Online Community
The game has multiplayer support, but only locally.
