Story & Themes
Infamous: Second Son features a new protagonist, Delsin Rowe, a Native American, and takes place seven years after the end of Infamous 2. In that time, an organization known as the DUP has taken charge of locating and imprisoning all Conduits for the sake of the population at large. Delsin doesn't know he is a Conduit until one day a DUP prison transport containing three Conduits crashes near his home. Coming into contact with one of the Conduits, Delsin accidentally absorbs his powers. Shortly thereafter, Brooke Augustine, the head of the DUP, shows up. She is herself a Conduit with concrete-based powers. Sensing that Delsin is hiding something, she threatens to torture his entire tribe if he doesn't fess up. Regardless of Delsin's response, she uses her power to fuse large shards of concrete to the bones of all of his friends and family members. After learning that the only way to remove them is by using the same power, Delsin vows to track Augustine down and absorb her powers as well.

Heads Up!
Violence These games are basically about using your superpowers on human beings, so there is a certain amount of violence inherent in that. However, you can choose whether to use your powers to simply subdue the bad guys, or to kill everyone you come across, including civilians. There isn't really any in-between either, so if you've already decided not to play an evil character you're somewhat locked into that choice. Either way, the violence isn't terribly realistic since it basically involves shooting bolts of energy at people. Bad guys will use guns on the protagonist, though, regardless of whether you're playing as good or evil.
Sex & Nudity There is a red light district in Infamous: Second Son and some suggestive dialogue.

In an evil playthrough of Infamous: Second Son, Delsin and Fetch briefly make out before Delsin asks if she would like to "go someplace where, you know, our bodies don't get riddled by bullets during foreplay?"

Good karma playthroughs of all games in the series are fairly clean.
Strong Language Minor usage of common swear words.
Substance Use In Infamous: Second Son, Delsin talks about Blast Shards (a collectable which increases your power) as if they're like drugs. For example: "That could definitely be habit forming!" There are a few other lines of dialogue about drugs here and there.
Conversation Starters
In Infamous: Second Son, themes of discrimination come up. Have you ever felt discriminated against, witnessed discrimination, or discriminated against another person?

If you played as a villain, what did you learn from that experience? If you didn't play as a villain, why did you decide not to?
