Ambertail Games and Team17 have released cute management sim Amber Isle on Nintendo Switch ($24.99).

In Amber Isle, players create their own dino-sona avatar and open a new store on the titular island of cute prehistoric characters. Players need to explore the island, search for materials, befriend the villagers, and craft new goods to attract more customers.

By crafting items, stocking shelves, and customizing the store, players can turn a tidy profit. Profits can then be used to repair and unlock new areas of the island, leading to more materials to work with. As with Animal Crossing, the ultimate goal is to make the island a more attractive home for permanent residents to move in.

Amber Isle has nearly 50 Paleofolk to meet, from dinosaurs to Ice Age mammals, amphibians, and even invertebrates. Each character has their own dialogue, quests, and shopping preferences. By befriending them, players can earn new upgrades and crafting recipes. Residents will even open their own cafes, shops, and businesses to help grow the town.

Amber Isle released last year on Steam PC. It’s been well-received by casual gaming fans, garnering a Very Positive rating on Steam.

It’s available now on Switch, and rated E for Everyone. A Deluxe Edition ($26.99) includes a Starter Pack with exclusive wallpaper shops, clothing, and decor.
