One of the year’s most anticipated online games, Marvel Rivals, is launching later this week, and NetEase Games has blessed us with an epic, anime-styled launch trailer. But most importantly, it reveals the last five (!) heroes arriving on launch day.

The newly revealed heroes are Black Widow, Cloak & Dagger, Iron Fist, Squirrel Girl, and Wolverine.

Wolverine and Black Widow are obvious additions, and Squirrel Girl is one of the most popular youthful characters in the comics outside of Ms. Marvel (hopefully we get her in the future!).

Cloak & Dagger and Iron Fist are surprising picks, especially as Iron Fist isn’t the more popular Danny Rand, but the more recent Lin Lie. Meanwhile, Cloak & Dagger are classified as a single “hero,” making them a unique combatant on the battlefield.

Following the days to launch, Rivals will explore the new characters each day. So far, we have character reveal videos on Iron Fist, and Squirrel Girl, both Duelist class (damage-based).

With these five heroes, the total number at launch stands at 33. For context, Overwatch originally launched with 21 heroes back in 2016.

The launch trailer features the theme song “Rivals ‘Til the End” by Chrissy Costanza (Against the Current), who also did the theme song for League of Legends. The full game soundtrack will be available on December 6 on streaming services.

Marvel Rivals is a third-person, team-based 6v6 hero shooter. It’s launching as free-to-play (with all heroes unlocked) on December 6 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s rated T for Teen.
