On the 40th anniversary of the original Tetris in the Soviet Union in 1984, Digital Eclipse has released Tetris Forever on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox ($34.99).

Tetris Forever showcases the most famous puzzle video game across five timelines and eras that feature playable versions, as well as video documentaries and featurettes.

The compilation includes a recreation of the original Tetris, programmed by Alexey Pajitnov on the “Electronika 60.” Players can also enjoy the first commercial release of Tetris on IBM PCs, and a multiplayer spin-off called Tetris Battle Gaiden.

Tetris Forever also includes one all-new Tetris game, Tetris Time Warp. Tetris Time Warp is a celebration of Tetris through the ages, as up to four players battle through different eras and visual styles. A total of 15 different Tetris games are available.

Fans can watch over 90 minutes of video footage that explores Tetris’ creation, evolution, and popularity in pop culture. Interviews include Pajitnov, Tetris Company founder Henk Rogers, and Tetris CEO Maya Rogers.

Video footage was produced by Area 5, best known for the documentaries exploring the making of The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part 2.

Tetris Forever is available now, and rated E for Everyone (video footage includes alochol reference and mild language).
