Electronic Arts announced a collaboration with Marvel to develop “at least three new action adventure games” for PC and consoles. Each game will feature an original story set in the Marvel universe.

The first game, and the only one being announced, is an as-yet untitled Iron Man game, developed by EA’s internal studio, Motive Studios. Motive Studios previously released Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Star Wars Squadrons.

“We have been long-time fans of Marvel and their impressive leadership, so this is a remarkable moment for our developers as well as our players and fans,” said Laura Miele, COO, EA. “We look forward to welcoming Marvel into the EA family of creators and know this collaboration will produce exceptional experiences for our players. We can’t wait to see players’ reactions when they suit up as Iron Man and do the extraordinary things this Super Hero is known for.”

The Iron Man game will be a single player, third person, action-adventure game. We don’t know any other details, but judging by the press release, we’ll get a chance to play as both Iron Man and Tony Stark.

While I love Iron Man thanks to the MCU, I do hope EA also focuses on newer or more relevant characters to the current MCU, such as Ms. Marvel and Doctor Strange.

Platforms and release dates have not yet been announced. Other big upcoming Marvel games include Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, coming to PS5 in 2023, and Marvel’s Wolverine, also coming to PS5, as well as Marvel’s Midnight Suns, coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles early next year.
