Curve Digital has been acquired by the Catalis Group, the parent company of both Kuju Entertainment and Testronic. Catalis plans to form a new subsidiary, “Curve Digital Entertainment,” which will be a merger of Curve Digital Publishing and Kuju Entertainment. (Kuju Entertainment also heads Zoe Mode and Headstrong Games.)
Catalis’ CEO is Dominic Wheatley. Wheatley co-founded Eidos Interactive, which was in turn acquired by Square Enix in 2009.
“Our acquisition of Curve Digital and merging them with Kuju means we have created the potential for a major new British games publisher, the first of its kind for many years,” said Wheatley. “It’s also good news for the UK indie games community to have a professional publishing partner who can take their titles to the international market.”
Kuju Entertainment has a portfolio of about a dozen games including Zumba Fitness and Powerstar Golf. The company does work for hire and also develop their own games. Based in London, Curve Digital publishes and develops games, including the popular indie titles Action Henk and Thomas Was Alone.
