Minecraft: Story Mode’s world premiere launch event will be a crowd play experience at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, California on October 12. The event will be streamed via YouTube Gaming, and you can watch it here.

Telltale describes the launch event as a sort of group let’s play: “The Minecraft community, Telltale fans, YouTubers and streamers along with some of the cast and crew will come together for the ‘World’s Largest Let’s Play’, cheering and directing the decisions on the giant screen from the audience!”

At PAX Prime this year Telltale held a similar crowd play, but for Tales From the Borderlands Episode 4: Catch a Ride. “Our last big Crowd Play event was a pretty amazing experience. Nearly a thousand Tales from the Borderlands fans, cosplayers, as well as cast members and developers gathered at PAX Prime in Seattle to direct a playthrough of Episode 4: Catch A Ride…it was an incredible, electric evening all made possible by the enthusiasm of fans. Laughs were had, tears were shed, and psycho faces were punched.”

Minecraft: Story Mode is, of course, a much more family-friendly experience than Tales From the Borderlands. The game was recently rated E10+ by the ESRB for fantasy violence and mild language. It will be available later this month for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Windows PC, Mac, Android, and iOS.
