The Seattle Retro Gaming Expo is coming up on June 28th-29th!
If you’re in the Seattle area and you want to meet up with local gamers—well, you’re already coming, right?
SRGE aims to bring together game lovers, especially those with an appreciation for the classics. But don’t feel like you be missing out on new games. The event will feature several guest speakers, a whole load of vendors selling geeky merchandise, and a massive freeplay space. SRGE advertises that it will have over 1,000 classic titles available to play (yep, even on vintage consoles like the Vectrex), plus a bunch of more recent Xbox titles. There will be local multiplayer set up so you can take on your friends and family if you’re up to it.
If you feel like testing your brains, there’s a trivia event happening on Saturday night. Like the game room, it’s not limited to classic game knowledge.
We’re super excited for this event, because what better way to bring together parents and kids than appreciating the whole spectrum of game history? If you played games as a kid, even if you don’t anymore, take this opportunity to hit up the Washington State Convention Center and show off what you can do on the Sega Genesis. Believe me, it will impress.
We’ll be at the convention too, of course, so look for our table as well as our panel on Sunday from 3:00-4:00 pm. It’s called “The Power of Pixels” and it’s all about how video games can help you be a better parent. SRGE’s whole goal is to build a strong community around appreciating video games. That’s what we’re all about too.
Will we see you at the Seattle Retro Gaming Expo this weekend? Let us know in the comments below, and don’t be afraid to say hi!
