Ubisoft ended their E3 2017 press conference with the proverbial mic drop: a lengthy cinematic trailer for the very long-awaited sequel, Beyond Good and Evil 2. Watch the absolutely stunning trailer above.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be a prequel to the original 2003 action-adventure game. The new game takes place even before protagonist Jade was born, which is a bit irksome since she’s still regarded as one of the best heroines gaming has to offer.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 will feature a new solar system called System 3 in the 24th century. It features a story involving space pirates, animal hybrids, and interstellar corporations. The trailer shows off the city of Ganesha, one of the locations.

The sequel will also feature multiplayer, although the original was a strictly single-player, story-based adventure.

During the conference Ubisoft also announced their Space Monkey Program. It’s a way for fans to sign up and get more information about the game. Ubisoft Montpellier claims they will develop the game alongside this community.

No release or platforms have been announced yet. Similarly revealed games during E3 have had a tentative Fall 2018 launch date.
