One of Ubisoft’s biggest trailers during last year’s E3 show was the first cinematic trailer for action-adventure-RPG Beyond Good & Evil 2. The highly anticipated prequel made another big splash at this year’s E3 with an even more impressive cinematic trailer, as well as some gameplay footage. No release dates or platforms have yet been announced.

A younger Jade, the protagonist of Beyond Good & Evil, is teased at the end of the trailer. You play as a pirate captain with her own crew, including the pig-man Pey’j, also returning from the original game.

The game is still early in development, with the producers and designers sharing pre-alpha gameplay footage on one of the planets you explore.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 can be played solo, or cooperatively with friends. The game uses an ‘open universe’ design, letting you explore planets, then get in your ship to explore even further out in a seamless transition. Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in pre-alpha, and Ubisoft isn’t announcing any release dates or platforms. The original Beyond Good & Evil released back in 2003 and has since become a cult classic.
