Telltale Games and Skybound Entertainment have announced the release date of the first episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season. The yet-unnamed first episode will debut August 14 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A Switch release will arrive later this year. Watch the new E3 2018 teaser trailer above.

The Final Season is the fourth episodic series by Telltale Games that journeys into the zombie world of Robert Kirkman’s comic series. Over the course of the critically acclaimed series young woman Clementine has grown from a scared child into a capable post-apocalyptic survivor, with an adopted child of her own.

The Final Season will feature a new over-the-shoulder camera system, more detailed environments, and unscripted combat moments to increase the tension. The new Graphic Black art style supports 4K resolution and HDR on compatible devices.

Pre-orders will be available beginning tomorrow, Friday June 8. PC pre-orders will receive 10% off, whether through Steam, GOG, or Humble. Windows 10 Store pre-orders will receive season one of The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series.

If you pre-order via PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you will immediately receive access to The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection. The Telltale Series Collection includes all 19 episodes of the The Walking Dead adventure series. That’s all three previous 5-episode seasons, plus the 3-episode Michonne mini-season and the single-episode 400 Days DLC.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season includes four episodes for $19.99. The first episode is out August 14 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and later for this year for Switch. It has not yet been rated but previous Walking Dead games have been M for Mature.
