Codename Entertainment, in partnership with Wizards of the Coast, has released Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms on iOS and Android mobile devices. It’s free to play, supported by purchasable loot boxes for gear and buffs.

As evidenced by the title, Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms is an auto-clicker with a Dungeons & Dragons theme. Idle games or clicker games are games that sort-of play themselves with minimal input – perfect for mobile gaming.

Much of the strategy comes in how to tactically organize your team of heroes, called Formation Strategy. Recognizable names from D&D lore, such as the dark elf hero Drizzt can be unlocked as renowned champions. Additional champions will be added through regular updates and special events.

Idle Champions also features an ongoing storyline. Players make their way through familiar locations along the Sword Coast. The current storyline focuses on the Tomb of Annihlation, the latest published campaign adventure for Dungeons & Dragons.

Currently on Steam, Idle Champions sits among the top 100 played games on Steam. It’s also one of the most popular free-to-play games on Steam. That puts it at several thousand players every day.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms is available via iOS, Android, and PC (Steam Early Access). It’s rated 12+ on mobile for Mild Cartoon Fantasy Violence and Mild Alcohol/Tobacco/Drug Use.
