Story & Themes
Set in London in the year 1868, Assassin's Creed Syndicate follows Jacob and Evie Frye, twin Assassins who travel to London with the purpose of helping the struggling Brotherhood presence there. Recently, the Templar Order has more or less eradicated the Assassins in London, establishing dominance over the city. Templar Grand Master Crawford Starrick, a powerful businessman who also controls the criminal underworld, has plans to extend his control outward to all of Britain and, eventually the entire world. In order to stop him, the Frye twins infiltrate London, forming a gang to rival Starrick, assassinating key Templars, and acquiring the mysterious and powerful artifacts known as Pieces of Eden.
The game autosaves pretty regularly.
The game does a decent job of introducing players to the mechanics through tutorials.
Violence Players use an assortment of weapons, such as knives and brass knuckles, to attack and kill enemies. Combat is fast-paced and bloody.
Strong Language Strong language can be heard throughout in dialogue, and includes words like "f*ck" and "sh*t."
Substance Use Opium is mentioned, and characters are depicted drinking alcohol and smoking pipes.
Consumerism Players can buy certain upgrades in-game, though everything is optional.
