The Historical Adventures of Daniela is the result of a successful collaborative classroom project from Primary Education Rural School Miguel Hernandez and Software Development Vocational Education and Training School IES Campanillas at Technological Park of Andalusia in Malaga, Spain. The 2D puzzle-platformer is now available on PC (itch.io) and Android for free, and serves as an interesting glimpse into how kids design games.

Although it was obviously developed and designed in Spanish, it’s also available in English, German, and Italian. The video game project took both groups of students six months as they worked through 2D and 3D design, development, audio, testing, and release.

In the game Daniela travels back through history, traveling through six different levels to return to her own time.

The Historical Adventures of Daniela has won several awards, including Digital Skills Awards Spain 2019, Best Entrepreneurship Educational Project, and Best Indie Game from Gamepolis 2019.

IES Campanillas is a vocational school that specializes in website and app development to teach programming skills. Creating full video games serves as an important output for motivation and executing design practices.

The Historical Adventures of Daniela is available now for free on PC and mobile devices.
