NetEase Games have revealed the details for Season 4 of competitive hero shooter Marvel Rivals. Marvel Rivals Season 4: Heart of Dragon will add fan-favorite character Daredevil, soon-to-be fan-favorite character Angela, a new map, and a new seasonal Battle Pass when it launches on September 12.
Heart of Dragon features a Heaven vs. Hell theme with Angela and Daredevil (though I’d argue Ghost Rider would’ve fit better for literal Hell).
Angela will arrive when the Season first launches. In the comics, she’s Thor’s long-lost sister who grew up in Heven (a mysterious Tenth Realm in the Asgardian lore), home to powerful angelic beings. She’s equal to Thor and other gods of Marvel in raw strength and power.
In Rivals, the beefy Angela is a Vanguard class, who shapes her liquid metal weapons into different forms, and dives into enemy lines using her flight capabilities. Angela also comes with a new Team-up Ability with her brother, Thor, giving him a new Thunder Spear attack.
The new map is K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven. It’s a Convergence map, where players must first capture an area, before escorting a vehicle to the final area. The new map will arrive about two weeks into Season 4, on September 25.
Arcade Mode is also getting a big update; Clone Rumble and Giant-Size Brain Blast are returning as permanent game modes. Plus new modes Free Fight, with no restrictions on duplicate heroes, and Conquest (Annihilation), where players gain points through KOs (so, uh, Team Deathmatch?). All these modes will be available via the Arcade Mode hub, and players could queue up for as many different modes as they like.
Season 4 will also add new costumes, new Twitch Drops, College Perk Costumes, and a new Battle Pass with 10 sets of costumes.
Also coming on September 12 is the PlayStation 4 version of Marvel Rivals, specifically optimized for the older console.
Marvel Rivals is available on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s rated T for Teen.
