A special Pokémon-centric Nintendo Direct is set to air early tomorrow morning, 7 am Pacific/10 am Eastern. The Pokémon Direct promises “big Pokémon news.”
The Direct will last for only eight minutes. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will most likely announce the new Pokémon game coming this year. Nintendo had previously confirmed that Pokémon will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

The popular rumor is that they will announce Pokémon Stars as a third version of Pokémon Sun and Moon. Previous generations of Pokémon Games have received expanded or remixed third versions six months to a year later. The last generation, Pokémon X and Y, were the only games to oddly never receive a third game.
This will be the first Pokémon Direct in over a year. The last one aired in February 2016. It announced the series 20th anniversary and revealed Pokémon Sun and Moon. You can read our review of Sun and Moon here.
A main Pokémon game coming to a home console would be huge news. In its 20 year history Pokémon has been home to Nintendo’s handheld systems, with only spin-offs reaching home consoles. However, the Nintendo Switch acts as a unique hybrid between home console and handheld due to its portability.
You can watch the Pokémon Direct live at 7 am Pacific/10 am Eastern. It should be found later on Nintendo’s YouTube channel. More information will be available at Pokemon.com as well as coverage here on Pixelkin.
